Chobani just released a series of short ads promoting their yummy Greek yogurt. As I understand it, Greek yogurt is the best thing since ….some other good thing that came out and was yummy. I mostly just think it’s sour.
Anyway, I was mindin’ my own the other night, watching some HUlu and this Chobani yogurt commercial came on. I had to write about this one, because up until about an hour ago, I couldn’t figure out what the tune here reminded me of.
Coldplay‘s “The Scientist“. That’s the song I thought this was. I’m sure at least a couple of you will think, “But this isn’t even remotely like “The Scientist”. You’re the worst. The absolute worst, Upshaw.” You’re probably right. Also, shut up.
Yeah, this isn’t Coldplay (“Obviously” – Everyone Who Isn’t Me an Hour Ago). It’s Daniel Green. The song is called “Hello Ditty” and it’s from a compilation called Laptop Folk. The song was used in three different Chobani falling fruit ads. You can watch them all at the bottom of this post.
So, there’s only one musician by the name of Daniel Green that I could find on Google. He’s a small-time composer whose Facebook page was last updated in July. I’m not 100% sure that this song is his (you’d think he’d say something!), but check out his website anyway, because his music is really lovely.
Other than that, there’s not much else to say. The song is catchy, and reminds me of “The Scientist” and the artist isn’t immediately recognizable. Or even with research. Luckily, though, you can download the song using the links above. Enjoy!
Chobani has featured some lovely music in the past. Brittany wrote about them in February.
