There is a familiar face in this Dove Chocolate commercial (or Galaxy Chocolate, as it is known outside of the US). Those beautiful doe eyes belong to one Miss Audrey Hepburn, who appears courtesy of CGI magic. CNET has a great article on the technology it took to bring Hepburn back to the screen. The whole CGI-ing dead celebrities to sell your candy bar can skew a little crass, but the recording of Hepburn singing “Moon River” is so charming it makes me temporarily forget the ethical haziness. I just want to eat chocolate while zooming around Europe in a convertible.
A little about the song: it was written in 1961 for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and if you don’t already know, this film has a serious pedigree. Starring Audrey herself, the movie was based on a novella by literary legend Truman Capote (who much preferred Marilyn Monroe for the lead role of Holly Golightly). “Moon River” went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song and Breakfast at Tiffany’s went on to inspire hundreds of bloggers’ Halloween costumes. Download this one now, everyone could use a little more Audrey in their life.

Moon river, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re going, I’m going your way
