When there is a Facebook commercial released the request lines here at WSIITC blow up. That is what I have decided. When they released their previous commercials you all blew up our lines until we had an answer and tracking it down was not easy. We emailed, sent messages through various media outlets and called. We love you guys and that’s what we will do for you. Luckily for us, the song in their latest Mother’s Day commercial was significantly easier to track down.

The song in this spot is “You are the only one I love” by Jaymay. Jaymay is a folk singer-songwriter from New York. She has been described by the BBC as being the “darling of the New York ‘Anti-Folk scene.’” To me, if the BBC even knows who you are it basically means you have made it.  I suppose having a song in a Facebook commercial also means you have made it. So what I have learned today is that Jaymay has made it. So congrats to Jaymay on her success! To find out more about the songstress check out her website, Facebook and Twitter.

P.S. Mother’s Day may be over but you can still tell your mom how much you love her. I bet she’d appreciate it.

Lyrics
The first time that I met you I knew
One day I would know you even better
When people tried to tell me “Do not fall for him”
I told myself “Don’t let them get to you”

You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love to love

You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love
You are the only one

The first thing that you said to me was
“Jamie I love you, Jamie I love you, Jamie, Jamie, I love you”
And I’ve never been one to believe in love at first sight
But now I know it exists

You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love to love

You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love
You are the only one

We went for walks through leaves in parks
Your winter sleeve was pulled over my hand
Don’t you know I thought of you when on St. Mark’s
I saw some other man collecting cans

You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love to love

You are the only one I love
You are the only one I love
You are the only one
